I will now be charging for people to come view the bear in my kitchen.

In honor of Austen in August–thank you for cluing me in, Jess Witkins–I’m sharing my favorite Jane Austen film with you . . . Jane Austen’s Fight Club. I know I’ve posted it before, but who can really get too much of it?
All the best to all of you for knowing your dogs from your lions.

Good laugh, Piper.
Those whacky Chinese. Next they’ll be selling “genuine” plastic crap to the US by the boat load.
Oh wait …
Cheers!
*snort* Cheers, Nigel!
Thanks for the shout out, Piper, and thanks for the “free” view of your kitchen bear. You just spoil us. .

LOL. Anything for our readers. π
I love that pole. Can’t I pick all of them. I’m gullible sober nevermind after a drink.
I don’t think Poll Daddy will count more than one vote, but I will. π
I think the Chinese zoo story falls under the category of “Quintessential Optimism” (or “Quintessentially Stupid.” Your call.) Great post!
Reminds me of the electronics scandal involving a company called Miniscribe. They had a product due, but it wasn’t ready, so they filled a slow boat with bricks in the hope that they would finish the product and fly it over before the boat arrived. No such luck. People somehow noticed the bricks were not electronics. . . . Glad you enjoyed the post. π
But the real issue was that the top brass (allegedly, according to court filings) sold all of their stock at the rapidly increasing price that was based on booking the revenues from those bricks. They then promptly filed a reversal in the next quarter. Their capital gains, however, were not reversed. Shocking. So, so shocking.
I had NEVER seen “Jane Austen’s Fight Club” before. Hilarious! Thanks, Piper. Once again, you made my day. π
An all time favorite. Glad you enjoyed it. π
That is SO odd about replacing animals! Rats instead of snakes? Crazy! I’ll pay to see your bear in your kitchen, he’s cute! π
LOL. Please tell me how much you would pay. I still haven’t settled on a ticket price. π
If you have lemons, make lemonade – if you have dog and not lion, well, a little lying?
Such a laugh over the nerve!
Isn’t that something? Can’t fault the Chinese on their bald-faced moxie.
How did I miss Jane Austen Fight Club?! That is beyond awesome!
P.S. How do I get advanced tickets to see your kitchen bear? I’m expecting a crowd and I’d prefer not to wait in line.
Consider yourself on the list for the preview. π
Thanks so much for including my post!
You bet, Marcy. π
Thanks for the shout out, Piper! And for the fight club. π
