Having worn stiletto heels, I must admit that I’m impressed with these ladies.

I’ll tell you something about my Intelligence Operative writing partner, Holmes. He folds a fitted sheet perfectly. I have no idea how he does it. My own fitted sheets look like squirrels have been dancing in them so I was glad to come across this YouTube video.
OMG, those shoes make my feet hurt just looking at them. I can’t believe that when I was in college, and then working “real” jobs, I actually wore shoes like this daily. Now my feet scream at the thought, and besides–it would just give the Magical-Dawg something else to gnaw. My first GSD chewed off 1/4 inch from the heel of just ONE from each pair of shoes…4 pairs in all. I walked with a permanent limp, except on hillsides. Ahem.
LOL. I sprung for the perfect pair of Italian black stiletto pumps once when I was young. Some of the most amazing shoes I’ve ever had. Right up until my cat got ahold of them. He loved chewing and clawing heels. I kept them for years before I finally accepted the fact that they couldn’t be fixed.
Yes, it’s sad…and the thing is, the pets “nail” shoes not out of jealousy or vindictiveness but as a sort of back handed compliment because shoes smell so much like their beloved, it’s a way to get close to us. But then, the dog and cat don’t have to pay for replacement footwear either. *sigh*
I put destruction of footwear as a form of adoration right up there with leaving a dead lizard in my bed to honor me. But it does make for some fun stories. 🙂
Hi Piper
Stiletto heel racing? I was in the Gaylord Texan (it’s a hotel btw) a couple of weeks ago and there was a whole row of people watching a lady in truly texas size heels try to walk over a newly polished marble floor. It was awesome. I was cussing the fact I left my camera behind.
The fitted sheet video will come in useful, but I expect I’ll still just roll them up in a ball and wedge them in the cupboard!
Cheers!
LOL. Wish I could have seen that, Nigel. 🙂
Ow, OW, OW OWOWOWOW!
And I like the Martha videos where she’s floor licking drunk–those are entertaining. Otherwise, I cringe at the ‘little woman being all domestic and loving it’ vibe I get from them. 😉
Maybe we could have a race where Martha drinks a 40 pounder and then folds a fitted sheet while running in stilettos? Oh yes, please, let’s do this!
LMAO! Now there’s a winner of an idea! Let that slip to Martha and maybe she’ll buy our film company stock before the movie comes out. 🙂
YES. Put Holmes on it asap. 🙂
I’ve done the running-in-stilettos thing. Ow. These days I wear nothing but sneakers – they’re so much more practical for a quick getaway. Not that I have to do that frequently… ahem… never mind.
LOL. So Diane, what is it you’re not saying about your activities?
How did you know I need that video? So long crumply sheet wads. 😉 And maneuvering in stilettos is a serious skill—a risky one at that. Wowzers.
Thanks for the brilliant mashup and warm mention, Piper. Hope you’re having a great Friday!
Stiletto motion is definitely an art. I got a kick out of my daughter’s middle school advancement ceremony. Several of the 14-yr-old girls were wearing high heels for what appeared to be the first time. They hadn’t practiced enough to lose the ‘high heel hunch’ and maintain balance upright. It will be interesting to compare it to high school graduation in a few years. Great Friday to you, too, August. 🙂
I love a good Stiletto but I am not sure I could sprint with them on. LOL!! And love the sheet folding instructions. I actually worked as a chambermaid for a few months as a summer job once and learned all about how to fold sheets and make beds hotel-style. LOL!!!
Off to check out your fab linky love. Happy weekend!
Cool! I’ve been a hotel maid, but never a chambermaid. It didn’t matter how we folded the sheets as long as we got them on the bed the right way. Happy Weekend to you, too!
Had to watch Stilletto Racing. Leave it to the Russians to take all the fun out of it. Won’t watch the Martha clip I like squirrels in my sheets.
LOL. Did you notice the girl with the packing tape around her ankles? I wonder if that’s considered cheating, and if the Russians would care even if it was.
Hey, all the comments are missing the most important part of this post: how to diminish morning sickness. Wish I’d known about that 44 years ago.
LOL. I figured there’d be at least one comment like this.
Now I have to find that video of the bar waitresses in high heels racing with trays loaded with drinks – it was around here somewhere…..
(I liked the one with the shoes and feet wrapped in wide tape)
thanks for the end of week giggles
I noticed that one with the tape, too. Wonder if she won that round.
I would need to have my shoes and ankles taped to do that (or would risk twisting one). Good find!
Thanks, MaLinda. 🙂
I still like to rock a stiletto from time to time but the running part is definitely not gonna happen! Thanks for the shout out. I’m sure Christine (The Date Coach) has a comment or two about stilettos and relationships and I’m certainly going to see she gets your link about the morning sickness cure. Who knew?
Personally, I think that bit about morning sickness sounds like something my writing partner would make up. Good for you with the stilettos!
Honestly, there just aren’t words. Stiletto heal racing…ok.
It’s right up there with foot binding, isn’t it? 🙂
Hey, Piper, have you seen the reports that semen is a natural antidepressant? Really. Of course, it’s always men who study such things.
I started to think there was a theme with these posts: things that make you feel ill–morning sickness, running in stilettos, talk about Gabby’s hair, and Martha Stewart. Thanks for the links! Great stuff as usual.
I had not heard that about semen before; however, I’m sure Holmes will say it’s only common sense.
I hadn’t thought about themes. Maybe you’re on to something. Good to see you, Julie. I have my Moxie soda in a prominent place on my shelf and think of you often. It always brings a smile.
Send the fitted sheets to the dry cleaners.
LOL. You do simplify things, don’t you? 🙂
🙂 yes. Yes I do. Except I don’t use so many letters.
Oh, no, no. We do not run in stilettos. A few months ago I had a fun post about how to walk in stilettos. And I know there is no running in those suckers – I own several pairs 🙂

What a great blog and video. Thanks for the link! That video should be required viewing for teen girls.
At my daughter’s middle school promotion ceremony, there were many girls wearing high heels who had the “high heel hunch,” walking slouched over and putting their whole foot down at once. It was cartoonish. My baby isn’t allowed to wear the really high heels until she’s 16, but I let her try them on for fun in the stores and practice that stiletto walk.
