When a Car Wash mated with a Massage Parlor in Malaysia, they gave birth to a new Customer Loyalty Rewards Program.
I think the women getting their cars washed only got toasters.

I’m a big fan of George Takei, known to many as Sulu from Star Trek. On 9/11, he published a post he wrote on the day after the original 9/11. Reflect
Diana Beebe contemplates the ethics of eugenics and the notion that we are morally obligated to screen babies for “imperfections.” Welcome to Gattaca
A great post by Jon Acuff on what it takes to make it, whatever “it” may be. Miley Cyrus was Wrong
I’m currently reading Duplicity,Β a military/romantic suspense by International Best Selling Author Vicki Hinze. Really enjoying this book!
Why is it that Chris Brown can beat the crap out of Rihanna and still be popular while Kristen Stewart is tanked over an extra-marital fling? Ellie Ann has solved this mystery. How I Relate to Kristen Stewart
The vote is open in Heather Konik’s Prawn & Quartered Hunger Games! I have nominated River Tam from Firefly/Serenity as the super hero who could kick ass on all the rest. She can kill you with her mind, and no power in the Verse can stop her! Take a moment to exercise your freedoms and vote. π
Girls. They’re not just scary for boys, they’re scary for parents, too. A Conversation about When Baby Girls Become Teenage Girls by Jenny Hansen at More Cowbell.
I am a hard core moderate, and there are few politicians anywhere on the planet who can make me smile, but this one did. This young man is an enterprising fellow from the Bronx. He didn’t have any money for his campaign so he made this YouTube video spoof of Call Me Maybe.Β I admire and appreciate his moxie. Too bad he didn’t win his primary, but I hope he doesn’t stop there.
And now for our campaign Poll Daddy question of the week.
All the best to all of you for a week of keeping it clean.
Piper Bayard–The Pale Writer of the Apocalypse
Well, that’s one way to sell car washes =P. As for the geneticist, shame on him. He obviously doesn’t understand his field very well. Those “imperfections” are what make a species viable by giving the genetic diversity required to survive in a world full of predators, bacteria, viruses, and parasites. I’m all for tweaking certain things that aren’t working correctly, like say congenital heart defects and other such diseases, but not for making “perfect” people. “Perfect” people would wind up perfectly dead the first time flu season came around =P. Well, maybe the second. But you catch my drift.
Also, about Kristen Stewart. I think it’s less her likability factor (I think she’s an introvert and we aren’t particularly good at this whole plastered on smile business) and more just the fact she’s a she that is causing the whole kerfluffle. Well, that and she cheated on the Twilight leading man and destroyed the fantasies of fan-girls (and, creepily enough, middle aged fan-women) the country over =P
I’m with you. I think those “imperfections” are what make us more “perfect.” Actually, I think the whole notion of “perfect” is born from hubris.
As for Kristen Stewart, could be that introvert thing is what sinks her. I always feel awkward on her behalf when I see her pictures. She looks so incredibly uncomfortable in her own skin.
Team Jacob!
The sad thing is, I know what you mean by that last bit about the teams and all, haha. I told a close friend I was going to write a Twilight parody someday. She despises Twilight (likes Anne Rice oddly enough) and still asks me about that from time to time. Only reason I didn’t do it was because in order to get everything right I’d have to have read the Twilight books. Lemme tell ya, that isn’t happening haha.
I have seen the movies though…but only with an added commentary of a bunch of guys from the Mystery Science Theater 3000 TV show making fun of them =D
LOL. Wish I’d seen the movies with you guys. π
You can! Check out Rifftrax.com. You can find either the soundtrack (which you can sync with your DVD if you play it on a computer) or possibly the whole shebang for download (not sure about that). Mystery Science Theater 3000 was a show from the 90’s about a guy and his robots who were trapped by a mad scientist in an orbiting satellite and forced to watch really bad movies until they go insane. Hilarious show. Now the guys are back together sans puppets to make fun of good and bad movies alike, haha
LOL. I have a similar thing happening in my dystopian novel, only it’s mariachi music. You know. The kind with the accordion. π
I’ll check that out, thanks.
Well, it’s certainly…entrepreneurial, to say the least! Maybe you can do a future blog post, Piper, on what other “combinations” in our society would create incentives for desired behavior. Esp. in politicians, LOL. Have a great weekend!
Ooo! Great idea. Sounds like a great Bayard & Holmes opportunity. π
Oh, I agree! Piper can do an entire post on other things to combine…STELLAR, Kathy. Just stellar. π
Some cars look like toasters.
Why does Chris Brown get a pass when he should be toast?
Toasted, broiled, scorched: Parents of teen girls feel really crummy. (Just hand in there.)
No half baked post this! Enjoyed the glee and reads.
He should definitely be toast. Could be because Rihanna pretty much gave him a pass. The vampire doesn’t seem to be as forgiving of the vamp. Could use a few dragons to toast them all.
Thanks for the blog love, Piper! As usual, your discovery makes me wonder. Toasters and sex for car washes? A free car wash wouldn’t be enough incentive? LOL.
Seriously. And apparently the car wash costs more than the prostitutes. How sad is that? Definitely one more of a plethora of reasons to prefer the car wash.
Once again, you bring so many great posts to the table!
I hope your River Tam wins! She’s amazing, and always does something unexpected.
Thanks so much for the shout out, you made my day!
Your blog always deserves a shout out, Ellie, but if I included you as often as you deserve, I’d look like your marketing department. π
As always, awesome mash-up! The car wash thing is a red hot mess. Off to read about Kristen Stewart now. π
LOL. I like that term. “A red hot mess.” π
Hey, where’s that carwash? I need a new toaster…
Thanks for the link…I loved your comment on that post. Your mashup is amazing, as usual. No one brings it on a Friday like Piper. π
Thanks, Jenny. π . . . As for the car wash, it’s in Malaysia. Might be better off just buying a toaster.
After one of those carwashes, you’re going to need a lot more than your car washed.
LOL. Seriously!
Hmmm… I can’t answer that poll question until I know what’s in it for the gals! And whether the woman are happy and emotionally stable. Not to get too overly serious or anything, but the statistics on childhood sexual abuse and depression among prostitutes and strippers is crazy high.
Maybe a singles option would be better. Single women and men wash other singles’ cars. If it goes well, they get a date. Hmm…
Another option: Couples car washes where sex (Ally McBean style – if you saw that episode) steams the windows along with the hot water. Woo! I’m feelin’ that already. π
Great post, as always, Piper! Hope you’re having a great weekend.
Thanks, August. Those are some great suggestions! Perhaps car washes could even close their garage doors with the cars inside for the couples to have a bit of privacy. π
